1874

The Vincor story began in 1874 with the establishment of the Niagara Falls Wine Company. 133 years later, Vincor International has established itself as a major participant in the North American super-premium wine market by repeatedly demonstrating it's ability to successfully acquire and profitably integrate wine companies under a common vision.

1889

Cartier Wines established.

1911

Niagara Falls Wine Company changed name to T.G. Bright & Co. Limited.

1925

London Winery established.

1975

Inniskillin Wines established.

1981

R.H. Phillips established.

1982

The Hogue Cellars established.

1986

T.G. Bright and Co Limited acquired Jordan & Ste-Michelle Cellars Ltd.

1989

Management buyout of Cartier Wines from John Labatt Limited.

1991

Inniskillin Icewine accorded Le Grand Prix d'Honneur - the highest award at VinExpo, the world's largest and most prestigious wine fair.

1992

Cartier Wines acquired Inniskillin Wines and changed name to Cartier Inniskillin Vintners Inc.

1993

Cartier and Inniskillin Vintners merged with T.G. Bright and changed name to Vincor International Inc.

Launch of Jackson-Triggs brand.

1996

Doubled Quebec operations with the acquisition of Dumont Vins et Spiritueux, making Vincor International the largest winery in Quebec.

Vincor International's common shares listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange.

Enhanced Western Canadian operations with the acquisition of Okanagan Vineyards, later renamed Inniskillin Okanagan Vinyards.

Acquired London Winery Limited.

1997

Entered Home winemaking market with acquisition of RJ Grape Products Inc.

 

1998

Acquired Spagnols Wine and Beer Making Supplies Ltd.

Established national home winemaking presence with merger of RJ Grape and Spagnols Wine & Beer Making Supplies to form RJ Spagnols.

Increased Quebec operations with acquisition of Groupe Paul Masson winery.

First planting at the Osoyoos Lake bench Vineyard in British Columbia.

1999

Established Le Clos Jordanne an ultra premium vineyard and winery on the Jordan Bench in Niagara, Ontario - the first ever joint venture by La Famille Boisset and first investment in the Canadian wine industry by a foreign wine maker.

 

2000

Enhanced Western Canadian operations with the acquisition of Sumac Ridge Estate Winery and Hawthorne Mountain Vineyards, wineries dedicated to the production of Vintner's Quality Alliance ("VQA") wines.

Launched Inniskillin Icewine in United States.

Established joint venture with Groupe Taillan to develop Osoyoos Larose, a Bordeaux style ultra-premium vineyard and winery in the Okanagan Valley.

Established US operations with the acquistion of R.H. Phillips., Inc., a super-premium winery located in the Dunnigan Hills of California.

2001

Opened the Jackson-Triggs Niagara Estate Winery.

Launched R.H. Phillips, products in Canada.

Enhanced US operations and distribution with the acqusition of The Hogue Cellars, a super-premium winery located in the Columbia Valley of Washington State.

Introduced Inniskillin Icewine in Europe.

2002

Established strategic presence in Oceania with the acquisition of Australia’s Goundry Wines, one of the largest producers and marketers of Western Australian premium and super-premium wine in the Australian market.

2003

Expanded presence in Oceania with the acquisition of New Zealand’s Kim Crawford Wines, one of the top ten wineries in New Zealand, with all wines positioned in the key super-premium segment.

Surpassed $400 million in annual sales.

2004

Enhanced portfolio of Western Australian wine brands with the acquisition of Amberley Estate.

Achieved a 21% share of the total market for wine and related products in Canada.

2005

Added sales, marketing and distribution infrastructure in UK with the acquisition of Western Wines, which also provided a portfolio of premium brands, including South Africa's largest export wine brand, Kumala.

Surpassed $650 million in annual sales.

2006

Vincor International acquired by Constellation Brands, Inc. of Fairport, New York.

Vincor Canada emerges as wholly owned subsidiary of Constellation.
